Awarded a 4 or 5 year technical degree in science or engineering. Trained in leadership and project execution. Will be actively licensed with a local engineering governing body where required by law.
Typically has 12+ years of relevant discipline experience.
Has a strong background in discipline work and a strong understanding of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices.
Skilled in estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance.

Work is assigned only in terms of broad objectives to be accomplished, and is reviewed for policy, soundness of approach and general effectiveness.
Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with policy and for coordination of other company departments.
Typically up to 10 direct reports consisting of less senior engineers and designers within the same discipline but could include total team size much greater than this with supporting coordination.
