Provide professional
top-level public services to library patrons on weekdays, weekends and
night shifts. (40 hours total);
Provide efficient
and polite customer service at the Circulation Desk, adhering to all
library policies and procedures developed in concert with the
administration;
Serve as the first
point of contract for all patrons and carry out public relations tasks for
visitors;
Respond to library
patrons' questions and request for holds and recalled items;
Maintain the Course
Reserves collection in concert with Faculty;
Perform a variety
of daily activities for the library; open or close the library; monitor
the library security system; secure book drops and computer terminals; be
aware of all aspects of the building and its infrastructure;
Ensure that all
library items are returned and controlled as mandated;
Oversee the
shelving and re-shelving of all library materials;
Assist in the
maintenance of library collection and identify materials for mending and
reclassification;
Respond to
inquiries of the other units or staff as appropriate;
Communicate and
work in a team with other members of the Library staff in all units;
Be involved in
outreach and social media activities of the Library, design images,
infographics and etc. for the materials to be posted;
Assist in
preparation of orientation materials (PPT slides, video-recordings) both
for on-site and online activities;
Guide tour groups
on orientations and open door days, participate both in on-site and online
orientation sessions;
Assist in
preparation of online tutorials for library users;
Collect office
supply requests from library units and process them on enterprise resource
planning system as appropriate;
Attend work on a
regular and dependable basis.

An accredited Bachelor's
degree of Library Science or equivalent and fluency in written and oral
English;
Intermediate level
of proficiency with Integrated Library Systems / Circulation module;
Minimum one year of
related library experience;
Methods and
techniques of customer service;
Ability to respond
to requests and inquiries from library users and institutional community;
Ability to work
accurately and pay attention to detail;
Good communication
and organizational skills;
Flexible approach
and willingness to work in other departments;
Ability to work
both on own initiative and as part of a team.
